Up close and personal

From the foundation of the company until the 1980s, the Rauch family lived cheek by jowl with the business. "Our house was right across the street, where the visitors' car park is today," recalls Jürgen Rauch. "On the left Roman's family, us in the middle and on the right Toni Marte, our warehouse manager."

The company grounds were a fantastic playground for the children back then. "Siblings, cousins, kids of co-workers ... we were 10 to 15 kids running around every day. Foreign employees in particular liked us. Sometimes somebody'd give us a few pennies. Then we would run down the street to the Walser kiosk to buy a roll of Fizzers."

After the company ski race the staff celebrated at the "Steigenfest". Employees and their children were there, too, of course. Centre, front, Hilda Rauch (mother of Franz and Roman)
