Information on the Expansion Rauch Fruchtsäfte in Nüziders
Dear residents of Nüziders, dear neighbors,
I am pleased to be able to inform you in person today that we are expanding our facility in Nüziders. On the former Frigo industrial site, we are planning to expand our fruit juice production - adjacent to our existing plant. Nüziders is a special location for Rauch. It is already home to one of the most important and largest plants in the international Rauch Group. Our fruit juices, produced here, are synonymous with “Quality made in Vorarlberg” in many countries around the world.
We are creating one of the most modern beverage factories in the world, adding approximately 150 modern and recession-proof jobs. At the same time, we will also be able to further modernize our headquarters in Rankweil. This expansion is a clear commitment to the Nüziders location and, above all, to our home region of Vorarlberg.
Here, we are consolidating production and logistics in a single location. This makes our processes more efficient and helps significantly reduce transportation needs. We are constructing a compact, multi-story building on an existing industrial site. The building’s height allows us to minimize the amount of floor space required; our high-bay warehouse is adapted in height and architectural design to the existing warehouses.
We are aware that a construction project of this magnitude raises questions. That is why it is important to us to provide transparent information. The regulatory processes are currently underway; construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026, with phased commissioning starting in 2028. It is particularly important to us to produce in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Our plant is located on the outskirts of town in an industrial park and has a direct rail connection—incidentally, Rauch is one of ÖBB’s largest rail customers in Austria. Truck transport also takes place directly via the highway, without impacting residential areas.
Our new facilities will be so efficient that our water consumption will remain within the limits of existing permits. In addition, our existing facilities are continuously being optimized to use resources efficiently and design closed-loop systems as effectively as possible. For the new building, we are relying on modern, highly efficient systems, green roofs, photovoltaic systems, and heat pumps. The goal is to further develop the site in line with the latest standards and to implement high environmental and efficiency standards.
