In contrast to vitamins, they are “inorganic” substances of inanimate nature. Nevertheless, they do have the same importance.
For smooth functioning, man needs a sufficient quantity of mineral nutrients for all of his physical functions. Therefore, mineral nutrients contribute to many metabolic processes; they are also important for the build of the body and for maintaining diverse physical functions.
MINERAL NUTRIENTS are for example: chlorine, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sodium, sulphur and phosphor. TRACE ELEMENTS are: iron, copper, cobalt, selenium, manganese, molybdenum, chromium, zinc, iodine, fluorine, silica, nickel, vanadium and they are found, as their name says, only in traces.
